On Saturday, April 14th, USSE2 and AECOM participated in construction of a new pavilion at the Shack Neighborhood House in Morgantown, West Virginia. Continuing our on-going partnership with the organization, we provided the design and partook in the labor.
It truly takes a village. Early in April, a group of volunteers from New Jersey tore down the previous pavilion and placed the posts for the new. Without this jump start, we would not have been able to accomplish nearly as much.
Hospitable as always, the Shack provided a lunch to all volunteers. The weather was beautiful and sunny, and we accomplished a lot toward helping this unique organization. Though we still have some remaining work to do, it only means we gain the opportunity to work alongside the fantastic men and women of the Shack sooner rather than later. Overall, it was a wonderful success.
