It is a pleasure to announce that our partnership with The Shack Neighborhood House has yielded some amazing results. The pool pump house project is now completed! Members of our team, MTEC, STMTYM, CSF, APO, Jane Hurt, and The Shack put in a lot of time and a lot of labor in order to bring this dream into fruition. The Shack hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony in order to thank USSE2 and AECOM for our contributions. Additionally, they placed a dedication plaque on the building for USSE2 and will soon be decorating the building with beautiful artwork from the very children that the Shack serves.
USSE2 and AECOM donated a total of $10,000 to the organization as well as labor and engineering services. We know that the funds will be put to good use to assist The Shack in continuing to serve the community as they have for decades.
Our partnership with The Shack is not over, however. We will continue to work with them on many projects and have already begun discussing our next endeavor.
We would like to take a moment to extend our deepest thanks to two of our team members who dedicated an enormous amount to this project: Brian Channell and Duane Sayers. Without their efforts, the project likely would not have been such a huge success. We would also like to note Michael Barr, a team member of the Shack, was truly the driving force in making this project happen.
The Dominion Post was able to capture the day as well. You can see the article here.
Please take a moment to look through some of our photos from the entire process.
